Grandparents’ lounge decor and tree pruner, steel, wood paneling, recording of artist’s story.

Throughout Hutsebout’s childhood, this framed, illuminated landscape of Glacier Park hung as the centerpiece in his grandparents’ basement lounge. Through the accompanying audio, Hutsebout embeds his own story into this family artifact and the landscape depicted, giving both new significance. The tree pruner points to the ways in which removal can, if done with care, enable new growth.
